CUYAHOGA FALLS - John " Jack" T. McNicholas, 78, passed away June 11, 2010.
Mr. McNicholas was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, graduated from New Castle High School, served in the US Army Security Agency during the Korean War and attended Youngstown College. He came to Cuyahoga Falls in 1952 for marketing training at J. C. Penny Company. His career in marketing included JoAnn Fabrics, the Kirsch Company and as owner of PM Associates. He was active in the Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon, Trustee and Youth Advisor at the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls and served on the Building Fund, Capital Committee, Endowment and Memorial Funds at Northminster Presbyterian Church. He especially enjoyed his family and church league softball, playing in New Castle and Cuyahoga Falls.
Preceded in death by his brother Herbert and sister Shirley Lutz, he is survived by his wife, best friend and high school sweetheart of 58 years, Jean; sons, John (Beth) of Cuyahoga Falls, Jason "Brad" (Leanne) of Cuyahoga Falls, and James (Sandra Moore) of Stow; grandchildren, Megan, Kyle, Allie, Erin, Megan, Logan. Grace and Jamie; great-granddaughter, Peyton.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday June 15, 2010 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. June 16. 2010 in Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trial Ext., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223, Rev. Stephanie Crossland officiating. Interment, Northlawn Memorial Garden.
