John C. Pavlik, 96, passed away on August 2, 2024. John was born on December 15, 1927 to the late John and Olive Pavlik in Cleveland, Ohio. He joined the United States Marines at just 17 years old in 1945 and served for two years as WW2 was ending. John was stationed in Guam and the American Embassy in Beiping (now known as Beijing), China.
Shortly after returning home, he met the late Marian A. O’Connor and they were married in 1951. John worked for a short time at Addressograph-Multigraph as a drafter for engineering. He then worked at TRW as a manufacturing engineer, retiring in 1988. John and Marian had three children, John (“Jack”), Robert and Cheryl. After retirement, John and Marian lived part time and later full time in Florida. They were married 66 years before Marian’s death in 2017.
John enjoyed golfing, gardening and in recent years, painting and reading fictional novels.
John is survived by his sons, Jack Pavlik (Joann), Robert Pavlik (Barb) and his daughter Cheryl Zinter; his grandchildren Jeanette (Andrew), Jay, Jillian (Jason), Ryan (Shannon), David (Margaret), Marissa (Bobby), Cari, Elez, DeAngelo, Pedro, Anita, Juaquim, Hugo, Immanuel and Klyx; great-grandchildren Lucille and Beckett.

Visitation to honor John will be held Saturday, August 10, from 8:30 until 9:30 at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow starting at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 1761 2nd St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.
