John Edward Stout

AKRON- John Stout, 63, passed away on October, 4, 2023. John was a lifelong resident of North Hill and graduated from North High School. He worked for Wyant Auto Parts for over 20 years until he began his career as a pile driver working for United Foundations Stillwell Equipment. John enjoyed the Cleveland Browns, loved music, lottery scratch offs, camping at Apple Valley, fishing, attending the Spring Nationals, coaching the Night People’s girls’ softball team, and flying kites at the beach. His favorite beverage was Pabst Blue Ribbon whose stock price will now probably plummet. He loved ketchup, goose liver with mustard on ritz crackers, any form of chocolate and Chef Boyardee pizza kits. John’s love of shelter and homeless animals provided a loving, safe home for 19 dogs and cats. John loved everything North Hill and spent his childhood sneaking into and causing mischief at the George Metro Park.  He cherished his lifelong friends Terry Thome, Ron Perkins, Jim Flasko, Keith Popovich, John Varrechia and Art Smith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Stout and mother, Ellen Stout (Foster).

John will be missed by his loving wife of 22 years, Terrie Stout (Salmon); His brothers, Jeff Stout (Viki), and James Stout (Lisa), sisters, Denise Smith and Stephanie Holman plus, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, great-nieces, cousins and dear friends.

A special thank you to the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Clinic Hospice, the wonderful nurses, aids, social workers, and Chaplain Bill Lyons.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the Summit County Humane Society.
