John Tryon

BRIMFIELD - John Tryon age 74, passed away December 22, 2020.

John was born in Akron, OH to Robert and Mary Jane (Collins) Tryon. He graduated from Hower Vocational School. John served in the US Marines and Army National Guard. He retired from City of Kent. John loved flying. He piloted single and multi-engine aircraft, helicopter and seaplane. John was a life member of Summit Lapidary Club and a member of Akron Mineral Society, serving as an officer in each club. With his interest in rocks, he enjoyed digging and cutting stones. John was a member of GWRRA where he participated in safety training and enjoyed riding his Gold Wing Trike. John volunteered as Trainman on Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

John was preceded in death by his sister, Cora Lee & his parents. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Bragg) Tryon; children, Susan (Blaine) Gunn and David (Vilma) Gunn, granddaughter, Brittany Gunn; grandson, Shaun Cram. Also surviving are: Aunts, Betty Prince and Iola Looney, many cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.

Private service to be held. Burial at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be sent to (veteran's home) Freedom House, 1213 Anita Dr., Kent, OH 44240 or Toys for Tots program.
