Kathleen Taylor

Kathleen Starr Taylor, a beautiful, bright light to this world, passed away on December 4, 2021, at the age of 61.  Kathy was born in Akron, Ohio and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for many years before settling in Tallmadge.  She was a 1979 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and received a BSN degree from The University of Akron.  Kathy was a nurse at Akron Children's Hospital for 31 years, and during her time there, she also served as VPICU Site Coordinator.  Outside of work, Kathy was active at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the bell choir.  Kathy relished her time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband John, and they almost reached their goal of traveling to all 50 states.  Above all, Kathy was devoted to her family.  She was the best mom, “Band” mom, “Show Choir” mom, and Girl Scout Leader she could be for her children.  Kathy never met a stranger; her kindness was extended to all.  She was a dear friend to many, and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Allan Starr.

Kathy leaves to cherish her memory, mother, Gloria Starr; husband of 41 years, John Taylor; children, Justin Taylor, Nathan Taylor and Amanda (Austin) Ferguson; grandchildren, Gwen, Lylah and Caden Taylor; siblings, Karen (Jerry) Gillham, Tim Starr and Tammi (Ricci) DePascale, and many extended family members and friends.

Guests are welcome for visitation on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 1-4 pm at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  A memorial service to celebrate Kathy’s life will also be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 6pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 2121 6th St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society .  Arrangements entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 330-928-2147.
