Keith A. Worcester passed away at age 88 on October 23, 2023, from complications of blood cancer. He was born June 13, 1935, to the late Lloyd and Jean Worcester in Elyria, Ohio where he spent his youth. Keith went to Kent State University where he met his future wife, Nancy Klemenc. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Keith worked briefly for the National Tube Company of U.S. Steel in Lorain and for the Goodyear Tire company in Akron, where he joked that his pores would sweat black for days. Then for a time in sales at McKesson & Robbins and later made his career as the Sales Manager for the Akron Division of The East Ohio Gas Company (Dominion).
After retiring from EOG he thoroughly enjoyed much of his early retirement taxiing his three grandchildren to school, track, cross country, band, and majorette practices. Keith enjoyed working in the yard and could be seen on his daily walks around Silver Lake and trips to the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium. He was a voracious reader and loved keeping up on dozens of local and national newspapers. Keith loved local history, was a sports fan and he had a soft spot for cartoon strips. He especially enjoyed attending all the various meets, concerts, and recitals for his grandchildren. Keith always had a sharp memory, a gift for details and a thirst for knowledge. Something his family will deeply miss, however, is his wisdom. Dad (grandpa) always being the one person we most sought out for guidance and direction.
He is survived by, and will be dearly missed by, his wife Nancy (Klemenc) Worcester, daughter Sharon Pulley, and son Kirk Worcester (Kim). Grandchildren Andréa (Van Buskirk) Francisco (José), Bryce Pulley (M), and Deidre Pulley. Also, his sister Marcia (Tim) Widman, sister Linda (Eddie) Kotecki, sister-in-law Pat Worcester, sister-in-law Eileen (Bud) Boyer, brother-in-law Bob (Judy) Klemenc, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Taylor Pulley, brother David (Pat) Worcester as well as their children Scott and Jane (Steve), and sister-in-law Carolyn (and Frank) Herrick.
Keith's family want to express our sincerest appreciation to all his many doctors and nurses who showed such compassion and quality of care over the years, especially Dr. Manson and Dr. Smucker. He had a very special place in his heart for the incredible angels at the Western Reserve Infusion Center. Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers Keith would be pleased with donations to various cancer and Alzheimer’s associations.
