BARBERTON- Kelly Marie Spahn, 38 years young, born July 27th, 1980, unexpectedly left her family, friends, and fur babies devastated by her death on September 17, 2018.
Kelly was a daredevil in her early years boldly following the footsteps of her older brother, Zach; such as the time she jumped off a playhouse after her brother and sprained her leg. The next day you’d be hard pressed to ever find a cuter, little strong-willed girl speeding down the sidewalk on her big wheel while wearing a walking cast. Later she performed her dance recital in her cast.
Kelly graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1998. She later became a veterinarian technician working for Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Montrose beginning in 2000 and finally The Cat Company with Dr. Mann in 2006. It was here Kelly found her passion. She loved working with animals and is known for her compassionate, kind, loving, and gentle heart. She was hard working and beyond skilled for her profession and often the person others would turn to for help. Kelly eventually became Dr. Mann’s assistant treating hyperthyroid cats with radioablation therapy, an accomplishment she was and should be very proud of.
Kelly emanated brilliant light into her fading darkness (we called her “Sunshine”) and had finally found her peace and strength with the help of AA and her parents.
Kelly leaves behind devoted parents, mother, Gail Spahn and father, Jim Spahn (Sharon Rozko); brother, (James) Zachariah Spahn (Kimberly Diehl); and sister, Christin Spahn (Richard Ray); and her nephew, Quintin (who it goes without saying she absolutely adored). Obviously, there are too many extended family to list, but she cared for all of you. She leaves behind her personal greatest treasures, her dog Hebo, and three old male cats Jack Frost, Bacon, and Onyx.
The family would like to personally thank Dr. Mann for his long-term role in Kelly’s life, as employer, confidant, and friend. She loved you and was thankful for your years of guidance and support. Bev Simons and Starr Balash, she loved both of you and was blessed to be able to call you her friends. We can never thank you enough for what you have done for Kelly and us.
Friends may call 2 hours prior to a 1 PM memorial service on Saturday September 29, 2018 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local humane society, in Kelly’s honor. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
