Kirk Lutey

Kirk D. Lutey, age 70, passed away on December 5th, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a life adorned with passion and love. Born on February 25th, 1953, in Prescott, Kirk's journey began in Arizona before he relocated to Akron, Ohio, at the tender age of 7, where his roots grew deep within the community.

In his youth, Kirk proudly showcased his athletic prowess, notably participating in the Little League World Series, demonstrating his versatility by playing various positions on the field. His love for sports continued into his high school years at Cuyahoga Falls High School, where he stood as a proud member of the football team, the Black Tigers, showcasing his skills both on offense and defense.  He took additional classes at the University of Akron.

In 1979, Kirk found his lifelong partner in Marian, and together they carved a path of shared dreams, love, and laughter. Kirk's artistic soul found solace in drawing and painting, where his creations served as a source of comfort for those around him, a testament to his generous and compassionate spirit.

Amid his artistic endeavors, Kirk held a deep affection for vintage comedians from the 60s and 70s, finding joy in their timeless humor and wit.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Louise (Elizabeth) and Paul Lutey. Kirk leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, dearly missed by his siblings Jim (Mary), Mike (Jeanette), Mark (Joan), numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends. His memory lives on through his wife of 44 years Marian, his devoted children: son Jeremy (Tracey) and their children Cortny, Kelsey, Chloey, Jeremy Jr., Molly, Ian, and Brixton, as well as his daughter Theresa (Artur) and their children Leonardo and Anna.

A time for remembrance and honoring Kirk's life will be held at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St in Cuyahoga Falls on Tuesday, December 12th, from 5 to 8 PM, followed by a short prayer service on Wednesday, the 13th, at 11 AM at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in his name to the Parkinson's Foundation (www.parkinsons.org), a cause close to Kirk's heart.

Kirk D. Lutey will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy remains an eternal beacon of warmth and compassion to all whose lives he touched.
