Larry Charles Hovatter

Larry Charles Hovatter, 69, of Cuyahoga Fall, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022.  Larry was born July 22, 1952, in Akron, Ohio.  He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1970.  After high school Larry spent 6 years in the National Guard.

Larry worked at Associated Materials (Alsides) for 43 years.  He started there loading docks and retired as Facility Manager.  

He is preceded in death by his father Charles ‘Howard’ Hovatter, mother Macel Hovatter and brother William ‘Bill’ Hovatter.  Larry is survived by wife of 47 years, Diane, sons Michael (Emily) and Aaron (Kaylee), four grandchildren Jack and Adeline Hovatter, Lilly and Elea Curry and favorite cat Ernie.

Larry enjoyed traveling with his wife Diane, eating cinnamon rolls from Oh So Sweet, wood working, attending races at Norwalk with his sons and grandchildren and campfires at night.  He was always there to help a friend in need or anyone that he thought needed a helping hand.

The family would like to thank the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department and the staff at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center for all their help, kindness and respect that they showed.  In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made to these organizations in his name.  Donations for the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department may be sent to Falls Firefighters and Community Society Inc., P.O. Box 1022, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.

A funeral Mass will be held at St Joseph’s church in Cuyahoga Falls at 10 am on Saturday, July 30, 2022.  A private celebration of life for family will be held at a later date.
