CUYAHOGA FALLS – Leonard “Pete” Bloom, 92 of Cuyahoga Falls passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on September 22, 2021.
Leonard was born in Akron, the youngest of four children. He was a graduate of East High School where he played football. After graduation, Leonard worked at Goodyear as an accountant. He was happily married to his high school sweetheart, Hope Shifflett in 1950. They had a son, Mark in 1954. The marriage ended with Hope’s passing in 2003.
Although Leonard enjoyed working at Goodyear, he was happy to take an early retirement to spend more time with Hope. They enjoyed going on day trips, seeing movies, and dining out. During his last years, Leonard enjoyed eating at the Hartville Kitchen where the food reminded him of Hope’s cooking.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Hope; sisters, Kathryn Spaethe; Lucille (Clarence) Gibson, and brother, Norman Bloom. He is survived by his son, Mark of Colorado Springs, Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
