Linda Mae Dimengo

“I still remember what we were both wearing the moment we met 47 years ago” – husband Joel

Just hours after celebrating Thanksgiving with her beloved family, Linda Mae Dimengo, Age 75, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2022.

From free‐spirited to spiritual, Linda’s journey began in the Sharon PA area where she attended elementary and high school, and soon thereafter moved to Warren OH to marry and begin raising sons Fred and John.

Linda’s journey brought her and her young boys to Cuyahoga Falls OH to live near her parents and sister Kathy, where Linda entered the workforce for the first time, married her current husband, Joel, and obtained her RN license from The Idabelle Firestone School of Nursing and her BSN from The University of Akron. While raising her two youngest children, Erica and Jeff, Linda would enjoy a 27‐year nursing career at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna before retiring in 2012.

Linda derived great pleasure from the simpler things in life many of us would not pause to notice, such as a bird chirping on a nearby tree branch, a furry friend darting around the back yard, or a gentle rain greeting her welcoming hands and face. Her more cerebral pursuits included whizzing through crossword and word search puzzles or snapping off answers watching Jeopardy and Wheel.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Alex and Alice Notz and infant daughter Susan Shaffer.

Loved ones who will dearly miss Linda until they meet again are her husband Joel of Stow, sons Fred Shaffer IV of Warren and John (Kimberly) Shaffer of Cuyahoga Falls, son Jeff of San Diego, daughter Erica Miller‐Pennington of Munroe Falls, sister Kathy Cofojohn of Mantua, grandchildren Johnny, Sean, Joshua, Evelyn, TK, Ethan, Jesse, Jorey, YzzY, and Ryker, and great-grandchildren Keira, Lee, and Liam.

Family and friends are invited to join us in remembering Linda on Monday December 5, 10:00 AM for visitation and 11:00 AM for memorial service at Clifford‐Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street Cuyahoga Falls OH 44221 with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Linda’s favorite charity Haven of Rest Ministries in Akron.
