CUYAHOGA FALLS -Lois M. Carter, 91, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2009, surrounded by her children. Born in Akron, she graduated from East High School and from Bankes Institute of Commerce, she also attended Kent State University and the University of Akron. She resided in Cuyahoga Falls from 1951to 2007, and spent her last few years at Haven Homes Assisted Living of Stow, where the staff became her second family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Orville D. Carter. She is survived by brothers, Ned (Oreta) Miner of North Canton and Ray (Priscilla) Miner of Riverview, Florida; daughter Betsy (Jack) Booth of Cuyahoga Falls and son Dale (Janice) Carter of Russell Township; grandchildren Maria (Steven) Kirkpatrick, Melinda Booth, Kristen (Dan) Law , Carl (Karen) Carter and great-granddaughter Kate. The family wants to thank the Haven Homes staff for all the love and caring that they gave Lois in the last years of her life and the Senior Independence Hospice staff for their support during her final weeks.
