CUYAHOGA FALLS – Lois Jean Siegenthaler, 92, went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2021. She was born January 24, 1928 in Brownhelm, Ohio to Florence and Elmer Garber. She grew up in Amherst, Ohio
along with other towns in Northeast Ohio and Canada as her parents were pastors in the Four Square Church. Jean had a very pretty voice as a little girl and sang with her four year old brother (who could sing perfect harmony) in front of literally thousands of people throughout Northeastern Ohio. Jean kept her love for music her entire life and would say that no matter how down things could get that music would always lift her spirits.
When Jean became a young woman, she met the love of her life Bill Siegenthaler who happened to play the saxophone in church. They were married on July 8th, 1950 and set up housekeeping in Akron. To say that Jean married the “Love of Her Life” would be a great understatement. Even at 92 her doctor recently told us that she would tell him how much she “missed Bill”.
As life progressed, along came four children to be the best mom to and raise in Cuyahoga Falls. She loved being a mom and wife and lived in the same neighborhood since 1957. She was known as a great cook and could make the best dinners along with homemade pies, cakes, and cookies you ever tasted.
She was incredibly close to her mom and dad also and everyone would get together in Florida every year for Christmas or on vacations. The times and moments were priceless.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William C; brother Dale Garber; she is survived by her children, Gregg (Rebecca) Siegenthaler, Teri (John) Murphy, Lori Siegenthaler and Jeff Siegenthaler; a brother, Paul (Melody) Garber and many nieces, and nephews. She came from a phenomenal family
and still has many wonderful cousins scattered from Hawaii to Switzerland.
Calling hours will be held from 5p.m. to 7 p.m. with a funeral service to follow on Friday January 22, 2021 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, Oh 44221. Due to Covid the graveside service will take place Saturday at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with the immediate family.
