Loretta D'Avello

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Loretta I. D'Avello, 94, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2016. Mrs. D'Avello was born in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leonard and Filomena (Latorre) Piscazzi. She worked as a loan officer at M. O'Neil's Employees Federal Credit Union for many years until her retirement in 1977. Loretta was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where she was also a member of St. Monica's Ladies Guild. Loretta was a volunteer for IBH, and also the International Institute; she was a past member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 685, the Cassanese Ladies Auxiliary, and the Italian American Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph LJ D'Avello in 1988, and her son-in-law, Tony Barto, in 2004.

Loretta leaves behind her children, Marisa Barto (Shawn Mulrooney) and Dr. Joseph (Dr. Lori) D'Avello; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Rachel) Barto, Ariana and Greg D'Avello; great-grandchildren, Lily and Caleb Barto; cousins, Frank Angiulo and Shirley Anguilo; and special friends, Jackie Casamento and Frances Mallardi.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Stow Glenn Retirement Village for their wonderful care.

Friends may call one hour prior to an 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday June 28, 2016, at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Interment will take place in Mount Peace Cemetery, Akron, OH. In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
