Loretta Sampsel

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Loretta M. Sampsel, 88, passed away April 15, 2017.

Loretta was born in Grantsville, WV to Samuel and Ida (Ferrell) Knight and has resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1961. She wrote poetry throughout her life and was a published author. She enjoyed bingo, cards, shopping, music and most of all her family.

Preceded in death by her parents and 9 siblings; son, Gregory Allen and husband of 39 years, Floyd T. Sampsel, Sr. She is survived by her children, Vicki (Brian) Whann, Floyd (Laura) T. Jr. and Brian (Catherine); grandchildren, Vanessa, Shannon, Luke, Nicole, Michael, Brian Jr, Brittney, Amanda, Mackenzie and Megan; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Aiden, Makayla, Blayke, Lola, Paislee and Brian III and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday April 19 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 Second St. Cuyahoga Falls, Fr. Jared Orndorff officiating. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Falls Cancer Club, PO Box 3244, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
