Louise Moore (nee Scherzer)
CUYAHOGA FALLS -Louise Moore (nee Scherzer) passed away September 20, 2010. She was born August 19, 1917 in Cleveland where she graduated from John Marshall High School. She then went on to receive her Bachelor's degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Louise began her teaching career in 1939 at Barberton High School. She was happily married for 54 years to John Franklin Moore who passed away in 2001. They moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1942. During their stay in Cuyahoga Falls, Louise did much substituting in most of the schools and was one of the first teachers in the Adult Night School. Eventually, she taught full-time in the Business Department of Cuyahoga Falls High School. After an active life in Cleveland in her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, she became a life member. She was a member of College Club of Akron, Business and Professional Women's Club of Cuyahoga Falls, National Retired Teachers of both Summit County and Ohio, and several bridge groups.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Moore, of Phoenix, Arizona, and son, Ralph Moore (Claudette) of King Salmon, Alaska. Louise was preceded in death by her brothers Edward Scherzer, Ernest Scherzer, Theodore "Ted" Scherzer, and Albert Scherzer. She is survived by her brother, Harry (Mary) Scherzer of Fairview Park, Ohio.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday September 23 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls with Rev. Stephen Gehlert officiating Friends may call beginning at 10:30 am Thursday. Final resting place will be Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls.
