CUYAHOGA FALLS -Louise A. Wichert passed away on February 27, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls for 57 years. She was a 1940 graduate of South High School and attended the University of Akron. She married Harding A. Wichert in 1942 and traveled to various military bases before returning home in 1947 to join Wichert Insurance where she was responsible for bookkeeping until the mid 1980's.
She was always involved in many community projects including the Cuyahoga Falls Clock Tower, Historical Society, Cuyahoga Falls Civic Music, Bicentennial Committee, and the Akron Symphony. She would often be seen selling raffle tickets for St. Thomas/Summa "Day at the Races" and the "Harness Race Rally" for Friends of Akron Children's Hospital. She was an avid golfer and belonged to Fairlawn Country Club, Silver Lake Country Club, and the University Club of Akron. She enjoyed volunteering at Firestone C.C. golf tournaments. Louise was preceded in death by husband Harding, sisters Emma and Marien. She is survived by son Tom and daughter-in-law Julie, granddaughters Janie and Lauren, brother and sister-in-law Frank and Sylvia Klespies, nephews Richard (Linda) Klespies, Ken (Peggy) Klespies, nieces Diane (Craig) Uithoven, Susan Fox (David Thewlis), and close friend Mary Etta D'Antonio.
There will be no calling hours and services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Thomas Hospital Women's Board "Day at the Races."
