CUYAHOGA FALLS - Mabel I. Patterson (nee Schonauer), 81 passed away April 18, 2009. Mrs. Patterson was born in Cuyahoga Falls, the daughter of Lloyd and Clara Schonauer, and resided there most of her life. She had been an Avon Representative since 1965. An active member of First Grace United Church of Christ, she served as an Elder and where her greatest joy was working with The Hunger Program which she helped found in February 1988.

Preceded in death by her husband, Paul W; sisters Genevieve Anderson and Miriam Willis, she is survived by her children, Rev. Dr. Ronald (Charnley) Patterson of Naples, FL, Paul L. (Debra) Patterson of Canton and Rebecca (Mark) Calabrese of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Paul, Jr., Seth, Amy, Aaron, Mark, Jr., John and Adam; great-grandchildren Hayden, Matthew and Benjamin; nephews Stephen Anderson and Rev. Mark (Kris) Anderson. She was blessed with loving neighbors Patti and Dick Lee and many friends.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Rev. Robert Dreese officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family requests donations to The Hunger Program c/o First Grace United Church of Christ, 350 S Portage Path, Akron, OH 44320 in her memory.
