STOW - Marion A. McKiernan, 88, passed away in her sleep on September 25, 2012 after a long illness. Marion was born in Barberton, Ohio and later resided in Cuyahoga Falls for over 40 years. Most recently she resided in a senior facility in Stow. Marion had worked at Barberton Citizens Hospital in the 40's as an x-ray technician and was a member of St. Joseph Church, Cuyahoga Falls, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Summa for the extra care and support during this time.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert McKiernan; son, Brian; parents Andrew and Anna Vatilla, and brother, Edward. Marion is survived by daughters: DeeDee (Richard) Cole, Debra (Mark) Cross; grandchildren, Patrick (Tami) Cole, Matthew (Jenn) Cross, Rebecca Cross, Jennifer Cross, Sean (Bonnie) McKiernan, Kara (Ernie) Borsich; great grandchildren, Lilly Cope, Mason Cross, Brooke McKiernan, Brianna McKiernan, and Aidan McKiernan; daughter-in-law Jenae Caniglia, and nieces and nephews, especially Gloria (Joe) Reitenbach.
Friends will be received from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 2nd St. Cuyahoga Falls. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
