Mary Mizer

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Mary C. (Lorenz) Mizer, 87, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, where she had resided since 2002. Mary was born on March 17, 1917, in Benwood, WV. She was the eldest daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Borosa) Bartolovich. She was a graduate of Stone Creek High School in Stone Creek, OH and later a graduate from the Steubenville Ohio Business College. Mary resided in Weirton, WV for 47 years, where she was a teacher's aide at Weirton Heights Elementary School. She married Adrian Mizer in 1988 and moved to North Canton, OH, where she lived for 14 years prior to her illness.
Mary was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose, where she served as an international officer with the Grand Council. She had also been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxillary, Women's Life Association, Christian Mothers of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Weirton, WV, Women's Club, Crippled Children's Society, Croatian Fraternal Union, West Virginia Retired Teacher's Association, and AARP.
Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Lorenz in 1963; her son, Richard Frank Lorenz; her brother, Peter Bartolovich; and her sister, Olga Fischer. She is survived by her husband, Adrian Mizer of North Canton, OH; daughter, Terri Lepto and husband, John of Akron, OH; and two grandsons, Johnny and Christopher.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2, at 2 p.m., Pastor Sara Nix of Northampton United Methodist Church officiating. Chapel services will be held on Monday, October 4 at 11 a.m. at Saint Paul Cemetery, Weirton, WV Father Walter Jagela officiating. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 1815 W.
