Matthew Kerr

Matthew M. Kerr, 23, went to Heaven on July 18, 2016. He was born September 29, 1992 and was a graduate of Tallmadge High School. He was currently a senior at The University of Akron working on a PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) degree. He was currently employed with Americans For Prosperity. Matthew loved working out, being with friends and family, and making people laugh. He was smart, caring and loved giving huge hugs.
He is survived by his parents, Wade and Kimberly; brother, Chris (Jessica); grandparents, Fred and Janet Dodson; aunts and uncles, Rick (Lori) Dodson, Jennifer (Jim) Pottmeyer, Kay (David) Steiner, Joe (Tammy) Kerr, Carol (Eric) Haines, Eric (Valerie) Kerr and Ben (Angela) Kerr; cousins, Andrew, Kasey, Katie, Anne, Sean, Dawn, Isabel, Sam, Tabitha, Tori, Dean, Jordan, Chase, and Emily; best friends, Bryce Copen, Edward Elefritz, Brent Pittenger, Brandon Maddox and Warren Beary.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 2:00 at First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. A celebration of Matthew's life will follow at the church in Wesley Hall from 3:00-6:00. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church Fred and Janet Dodson Family Memorial Fund in memory of Matthew Kerr or the Barberton Community Foundation Matthew Kerr Scholarship Fund.
