Melvin Horner

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Melvin Guy Horner, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 13, 2016. He was born in Akron and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 62 years. Melvin served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War, and retired from ATandT after 43 years of service. He was active as a lay minister and in his community for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 63 years; children, Michele (John) Mills of Akron and Mark (Susan) Horner of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Horner; great-grandchild, Zoe; Melanie Stewart; grandchildren, Rachel and Danny.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00p.m. on July 27, 2016 at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church 55 Atterbury Blvd. Hudson, OH, 44236. Inurnment took place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cuyahoga Falls Paramedics or Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Hudson. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
