CUYAHOGA FALLS - Melvin Edsel Surface, age 79, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away at home May 15, 2009 after a short illness.
Mel was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lynne. Mel will be remembered always as he did it his way and as a fun-loving man. Mel served in the Army-Navy and lived in Cuyahoga Falls for 43 years. He was a member of Ernest Angley's Evangelist Church and owner-operator of Northampton Motors.
Born to the late Robert and Etta Surface, Mel is survived by brother Nathen (Nora) Surface and sister-in-law Della Labrozzi. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Wilkerson and is survived by his sons Steve Surface, Dana (Carol) Darrow and daughter Sherry Wilkerson. He will be immensely missed by his family and dear friends Mike Pace and Lulu.
We cannot express enough the love and caring friendship that spells Mike Pace! Mr. Bob Newberry with his loving support, kindness, and devotion will always be remembered. Kim and Mike Sandrene's loving support and patience will always be remembered. Kim Heim, forever confidant and friend. Karen Heffernan, loving friend and chef. Joe and Donna Turnich as always came through as friends and companions. Joe Kodish, his lifetime friend. Grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica), Brandon, Britney, Collin, Brooke, Alena, and baby Dollyhigh and Laurie and Peter.
