Mildred "Millie" Ruth Porter (nee Predico) left her earthly life to dance with Jesus on August 22, 2013. Millie was born on March 8, 1929 in Munroe Falls and had resided in Stow most of her life, moving to Punta Gorda, Florida in 2012. Millie held various jobs throughout her life but was very proud to have worked at General Motors / Terex in Hudson as a parts packer, retiring from there after 20 years of service in 1989. She had many interests that kept her busy during her retirement years. She loved to study her family history and talking about the good old days, reading her bible, doing word search puzzles and writing in her daily journal. She previously enjoyed gardening, crocheting for the Stow Blanketeer's, going to the Stow Sunshiner's monthly events and attending her favorite church Twin Falls UMC.
Millie will be remembered most by those who loved her for her twinkling eyes and beautiful smile, carrying a tissue with her 'just in case she needed one', making sure her lipstick was on straight, not a hair out of place, her earring color coordinated with her clothes, shoes and purse, having the cleanest floors you could probably have eaten off of, her love of dancing, especially to the music played by her favorite family band 'Hunker Down', asking those she met "are you "I"talian and ending every conversation with "other than that"... ..
Millie joins in heaven her parents, father Frank (Cosmo) Predico and mother, Amy Ruth Predico (nee Moore); brother Charles Hammond; sisters Marjorie Kennedy, Martha Leonard and Marilyn Baker; nephews Ronnie Hammond, Eddie Kennedy and Johnnie Predico; niece, Connie Stojonavic (nee Kennedy); former husbands Robert Hunt and father of her children, David Ross Porter.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted loving children, David Bruce Porter, Joann Wesley and Cindy Weimer; grandchildren Frank, Wendy, Tim, Sherri, Dawn, Michael and Stacy; 14 great-grandchildren; loving brother Henry Predico; beloved sister-in-law Mary (Bob) Brown; special niece Victoria (Rick) McLain (nee Leonard), and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation has taken place in Florida. A celebration of Millie's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Twin Falls United Methodist Church, 60 North River Rd., Munroe Falls, Ohio 44262.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Twin Falls United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in her memory, other than that... ...
