Mildred L. Salmon

CUYAHOGA FALLS- Mildred “Mickie” (Thomas) Salmon, 87, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023. She graduated from North High School in 1955 and was married to Ray in 1956, becoming a lifelong member of Cuyahoga Falls. They spent 67 wonderful years together. She retired from Saint Thomas Hospital in 2001. Mickie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Both Ray and Mickie were devoted members of Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 60 years. Mickie enjoyed vacations to North Carolina, Lake Erie, and Amish Country. She was a member of the Patterson Park Singing Group, Redeemer prayer groups. Mickie loved her country and was very active in her community. One of her greatest joys was planning events for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Salmon; parents, Milred and Percy Thomas and Hulda and Dewey Graham; siblings, Lois, William, and George and great-grandsons, Colin and Henry.

Mickie will be missed by her children Bev Hawley, Kevin (Melissa) and Dennis (Carmen); grandchildren, Christopher, Steven (Maryanna), Andy, Karleen, Bradley (Ariel), Zachary (Danielle), Kelsey (Cameron) and Keeley (Luke); great grandchildren, Kymbree, Korie, Lincoln, Eloise, Mila, Addilyn, Blakeley and Ruxley; and many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Friday November 10, 2023, at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday November 11, 2023, at Redeemer Lutheran Church 2141 5^th Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Interment will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church and School and the NICU at Akron Children’s Hospital.
