CUYAHOGA FALLS - Nancy Anne Deering (Nee Thompson), 84, passed away March 9,2014.
Mrs. Deering was born May 22, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of Paul H. Thompson and Geraldine F. (Rothermel-Sedgwick) Thompson.
In her earlier years she lived in the Akron area, graduating from East High School in the class of 1947. Later she moved to the San Francisco area where she was employed as a Legal Secretary for more than 40 years. She returned to Akron in 2004 after her husband, Theodore Deering passed in 2003. Nancy was very active in Legal Secretary's Associations both in Akron and San Francisco. At one time she was President of the Akron group. She developed a love and passion in San Francisco for ballet where she regularly attended performances.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband. She is survived by her brothers, James (Jean) Thompson of Cuyahoga Falls and Jack (Cindy) of Stow; nephews, Jim, Scott (Kim), Ryan (Megan) and Grant (Hani), great-nephew Austin; great-nieces Morgan, Bailey, Charlotte and Mia..
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, where friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Final resting place Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. . Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside Rd, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131-2217.
