CUYAHOGA FALLS - Naomi Mason, 93, passed away June 8, 2010 at her residence. Born in Spring City, TN., she was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls since 1988.
Soon to be a centenarian, Naomi mirrored life of her time. A country farm girl marrying her sweetheart and moving to the big city. She was a woman of many talents, some of which were honed not only from the challenge of doing, but of necessity. She was a homemaker. She was "Betty Crocker" who could and did improve any recipe. She was "Rosie The Riveter" during the war years. Using these talents, she could hammer and saw with the best. She was a seamstress that could make her "Singer" sing. In later years, she spoke her mind to all who would listen and even to those who didn't. She enjoyed trips, checking out neighbors, parties, good times and Clark Gable in "Gone With The Wind." She was loved a lot, feared a little, and greatly admired. From all of us, we thank you for always being there. May the glory of heaven embrace her with tender and familiar arms.
Preceded in death by her husband George, she is survived by her children: Georgia (Frank) Stams of Cuyahoga Falls, Juanita (Steve) Englehart of Akron, and Joe Mason of Munroe Falls; grandchildren: Kathryn, Steve, and Frank Stams and Artie and Keri Englehart; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Rhiannon, Mason, and Mikol.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 11, 12:00 Noon, at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating.
