CUYAHOGA FALLS- Nita F. Snider passed away July 25, 2014. She was born in Connersville, IN to Lillie Dale and Oliver Edward Coleman and graduated Connersville High School. After graduation, she was employed by Indiana Associated Telephone Company until her marriage in 1941 to James F. Snider. After their marriage, they lived in Indianapolis, IN before moving to Akron in 1942. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Cuyahoga Falls where she continued to live until her death.
Nita was preceded in death by her husband James Snider; mother and father; brothers Woodrow Coleman, Indianapolis, IN, James Coleman, Connersville, IN, and Leo Coleman, Martinsville, IN; son-in-law Jack Hillegas, Warsaw, IN
She is survived by daughter Lynne A. Hillegas, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and sons James F. (Diana) Snider II, Wadsworth, OH, David E. (Nancy) Snider, Grand Rapids, MI and her two grandchildren Lindsay S. and John C. Snider. Also surviving is brother-in-law William L. (Peggy), and many nieces and nephews.
Nita was a 60+ year member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Cuyahoga Falls, where she served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher and office aide. In addition, she served on several community boards, belonging to Akron Jay-Cee Wives and the Akron Women's City Club. She participated in Boy Scouts as a Den Mother. Her interests were traveling, gardening, needlework and reading.
A memorial service will be held at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 2nd St. and Broad Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls at 2 PM on Saturday August 9th 2014, with Reverend Kirk Bruce officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilgrim United Church of Christ or the charity of the giver's choice.
