CUYAHOGA FALLS - Norman H. Land, 80, passed away peacefully April 8, 2009 surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Land resided in the Cuyahoga Falls area all his life. He was the son of Harrison and Hilda Land, a 1946 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, served in the US Army during WWII and retired from The Hoover Company in 1991. He was a life member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls where he served as an Elder, Deacon and worked with the Friends of the Carpenter. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach, SC.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Donald and son-in-law Jim Snyder; he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth M (Horst) Land. He also leaves three daughters, Terry Snyder, Janice Kurtz both of Cuyahoga Falls and Yolanda (Rick) Ayers of Canal Fulton; grandchildren, Jean Snyder, Mark (Melissa) Snyder, Julie (Steven Pal) Kurtz, Kimberly (Stephen) Myers, Kevin Ayers and Sheri (Steve) Blair; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Kyle, Maxx, Andrew, Keith, Angela, Kara, Casey, Brittany, Brian, Brandon, Rachel, Jacob, Beighley, and Keegan and many nieces nephews and friends.
Cremation has taken place a Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 13 in the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 2819 Hudson Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Rev. J Ross Slaughter officiating. Final resting place will be Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his Church in his memory.
