CUYAHOGA FALLS After a long and fulfilling life, Norman L. Ray, 89, passed away October 27, 2013 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Donna Ray; his son, Linden Ray and his grandson, Nicholas Courtney. Norman is survived by his daughters, Leslie Ray and Laurie Ludrosky (Brian Borsos); sister, Edith Cadwell; granddaughters, Erin (Ludrosky) Courtney and Ashley Ludrosky; great-grandson, Max Courtney and dear friend, Maggie Stricklen.
Norman served his country in the United States Navy and retired from B.F. Goodrich with over forty years of service. Norman thoroughly enjoyed his retirement with daily swims at the Riverfront YMCA, golf, lunch with friends, time spent with family, and volunteer work for Good Neighbors and other local food banks. He was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where he served as both an elder and a deacon. The kindness, generosity and sense of humor Norman had will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have known him.
Calling hours will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday October 30, 2013 and one hour prior to an 11 AM funeral service on Thursday October 31 in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front Street. Rev. Stephanie Crossland will be officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
