Pamela Sue Zimmerman (Atleson)

Pamela Sue Zimmerman (Atleson). Pam, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on July 27^th after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis E. Zimmerman; son, James A. Zimmerman; birth mother, Marjorie Atleson; lifelong mother, Mary Lou Atleson; father, Harry Atleson; and brother-in-law, Dave Dick.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly A. Zimmerman-Frame (Mike); sisters, Margie Boyle and Karen Moore (Larry); granddaughters, Katelyn Zimmerman (Megan and Lily) and Emily Zimmerman (Noah); nephews, Michael Boyle (Stacie), and Matthew and Joseph Moore; and great-nephew, Haiden Boyle.  

Pam was a 1960 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and was a proud life-long resident of Cuyahoga Falls. She worked for the city for 30+ years as the Electric Department Dispatcher and occasionally helped with snow command directing plows.

Pam loved people. She spent much of her life surrounding herself with people from PTA, Cub Scouts, Astronomy Club, she helped found the 3 C’s Citizen Band Radio Club, played guitar and sang when her kids were little, was part of a bowling league, spent 50 years as part of a card club with her friends, and her best friend Carla Curly. She helped her mom make crafts for church craft sales and was a lifelong tallented crafter.

Pam greeted all people she met with her brightest smile.

She will be greatly missed by her family, particularly her daughter Kelly, whom was her caregiver the last six months of her life.

The family would like to thank nurse Brenda and aid Heather and the rest of the Crossroads Hospice Organization for the tender care they provided to Kelly and Pam.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday August 3^rd, 2023 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Friday August 4 at Oakwood Cemetery 2420 Oakwood Dr. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.

Memorials in her honor may be made to an Alzheimer’s Charity of your choice.
