CUYAHOGA FALLS - Paul C. Amadio, 96, passed away October 13, 2014. Mr. Amadio was born in Struthers and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls the past 64 years. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace in 1980 as an Electronics Technician for guided missile systems with 30 years of service, and was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion Charles Foust Post 281 for over 50 years and was a member of ARRL. He was a premier runner and holder of the State Record for the 1500 Meter Run. He ran in the first National Senior Olympics held in St. Louis, Missouri, and won a gold medal for the 1500 Meter Run.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; 2 brothers and 4 sisters; he is survived by his twin daughters, Margie Amadio (Dick Koogler) of Florida and Peggy Oden (Dale) of Cuyahoga Falls; sister, Georgia Norling of New Middletown; sister-in-law, Sally Amadio; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held from 1-4 on November 2, 2014 in the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium in the Cuyahoga Room, 2345 Fourth St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to Summa at Home Hospice 525 E. Market St. Akron, OH, 44304. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home & Crematory, 330-928-2147.
