CUYAHOGA FALLS – Penny Petrusky, 65, joined the angels on April 5, 2020. Penny was born on July 11, 1954 to the late Harold and Lucy Price. She spent her childhood in Boyne City, MI, but as a young adult she decided to “see the world” and moved to Jamaica followed by Daytona Beach, FL where she worked at the famous Wreck Bar. It was there she met her best friend Mark (husband) and then moved to Ohio to live for the next 43 years.
Penny enjoyed working with people. While raising Ryan (son) in his early years, she worked as a waitress at Gus’ Chalet so she could have the greatest flexibility for her family. She then took service for the next 25 years at the Swagelok Company where she was even featured on the cover of their benefits booklet. In her spare time, she took tickets at high school sporting events where she loved the interaction with the students and fans.
Penny’s greatest passion and enjoyment was having an active social life and to “LIVE EACH DAY LIKE IT’S YOUR LAST.” She loved going to sporting events, but her favorite pastime was rooting for any team Ryan or Lance (grandson) played on or Mark coached, as she was always their #1 fan. Beyond sports she loved planning and attending parties (especially Euchre parties), going to the movies, shopping and going on trips with her girlfriends and family.
During Penny’s personal time, she enjoyed sitting in the sun and reading a book either by a pool or by her beloved Lake Charlevoix.
Penny is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mark; son, Ryan {Allison}; two grandchildren, Lance and Reed; brothers, Hal, Brad {Barb}, Brian {Pam} and loved nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Rev. Kirk Bruce at Pilgrim United Church of Christ and all her friends for their love and prayers.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Penny’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To send condolences or sign the guest book visit www.cliffordshoemaker.com
