CUYAHOGA FALLS -Phyllis Jane Prinzo, 60, passed away July 24, 2009. Phyllis was born in Akron and was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls . She fought a brief but courageous battle with cancer and showed great strength to her family and caregivers. She was employed by Steelastic Co. Phyllis was a '67 grad of Cuyahoga Falls High where she made many friends as the "donut girl" including life long friends Cheryl Issacs and Deborah and Brad Garn. She was known as a great dancer when she arrived at Ohio University where she graduated in 1971. She went on to earn her MBA. Phyllis was an avid reader wearing out the bookshelves of Taylor Library. She enjoyed playing cards with her card group, family and with Cheryl, Dwight and Loretta. She was a gourmet, an expert on cheeses and wine and creative in the kitchen. She was proud to be a member of the Prinzo and Ocker families. Phyllis was a jewelry artist and her work proudly displayed the ByPhyll trademark and is worn and enjoyed by many people. Phyllis had a unique style and was not afraid to give her opinion and advice, which was always good advice. She liked her work, made many friends at Steelastic and had a great boss, Brian Fetzer. Phyllis and friend Jay would frequent local orchards and ice cream parlors and shared many laughs with her very keen sense of humor. She will be missed.
She is survived by parents, Pat and Vera Prinzo of Cuyahoga Falls ; sisters, Janice Hudson(Stew) and Arlene Jiamboi; brother, Patric (Jill and Cody). She leaves behind nieces, Jolynn Jiamboi, Stacie Hudson and Samantha Rohrbough (Zack); nephews, Michael Hudson and Anthony, Jonathon and Matthew Prinzo and great niece, Sirenatie and great nephew Skyler and close friend Gordon "Jay" Alexander and his daughters, Leah and Becky.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm Monday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday in St. John's Episcopal Church, 2220 2nd St. Cuyahoga Falls, Rev Deborah Rankin officiating. Final resting place Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Family in her memory.
