Randall A. Ott

Randall Alan Ott, 59, passed away March 9, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.

Randy (Hudson, Ohio) dedicated many years of his life in service to the critically ill or injured. He began his career as an EMT for the City of Hudson. He then trained to be a flight paramedic and flew on Air Bear, Akron Children’s Hospital’s pediatric-dedicated medical transport helicopter. He moved on to work for Stat MedEvac out of Youngstown, and also worked part-time for Hudson EMS.

Randy’s passion for the great outdoors influenced all of his hobbies, including fishing and golfing with his brothers, hunting, canoeing and hiking. Whenever he wasn’t working and the weather allowed, Randy could be found at Hudson Springs, on his boat in Lake Erie, in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, or on a local golf course–more often than not with his cherished and beloved daughter, Hailey, whom he prioritized over all else. Randy loved spending time with Hailey and was always planning the next outing or road trips with her and the rest of his family. His friends were too numerous to count, no doubt because his laughter and sense of humor were infectious, but also because he was the first person to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.

Randy is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughter Hailey Molchen of Stow, Ohio; his mother, Barbara (nee Varner) of Findlay, Ohio; his sister, Lori Liska of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; his brothers Craig (Jeri nee Jura) of Magnolia, Ohio, Mark of Findlay, Ohio, Jeff (Bernadette nee Batt) of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Eric (Valerie nee Phillips) of Hudson, Ohio; as well as two nephews (Matthew and Alan) and nine nieces (Jennifer, Kathleen, Kristen, Stephanie, Gretchen, Rachel, Emily, Olivia and Maris).

He is preceded in death by his father, William Ott, of Findlay, Ohio.

Randy’s family will host a remembrance of him on May 2, 2025 from 5-8pm at the Barlow Community Barn in Hudson, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society by visiting donate.cancer.org.
