CUYAHOGA FALLS - Ray C. Garrett passed away at his residence March 6, 2010.
Born in Akron, Mr. Garrett was a life resident of the area. Ray served in World War II with the Army Air Corps and worked for B.F. Goodrich, retiring with 40 years service. He was a 60-year member of Adoniram/Joppa Lodge #517, F. & A.M., a member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron, Tadmor Shrine, and a life member of the Mayflower Society. Ray had been a Scout Master with Troop #70, had volunteered at the Soap Box Derby for 20 years, was Director Emeritus for the BFG Federal Credit Union, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls.
Preceded in death by his wife Betty, he is survived by children Carolyn (Ron) Decisy of Stow, Timothy Russell Garrett, and Melody (Donald) Youngkin, both of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren Christine, Michael, Peter, Aaron, Nicole and Ashley; and 8 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, March 10, where a funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Rev. Marvin Brown officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Memorial Park. Adoniram/Joppa Lodge #517, F. & A.M. will conduct a Masonic Funeral Service at 7:45 pm on Wednesday.
