CUYAHOGA FALLS – Richard V. Clausen, 86, passed away on April 29,2021. Richard was born on Sept 26, 1934, to Clause and Elise Clausen in Sioux City, Iowa. He was proud to serve in the United States Navy entering the service at 16 years old, during the Korean War Era. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing throughout his life. Richard was very active, later in life, he learned to snow ski at age 65. He enjoyed it so much that he taught his family all to ski whether they wanted to or not. Richard also loved traveling especially going to his family home in NC. Richard loved life. He loved to tell family stories and jokes. Richard was very successful in business, going on to having his own insurance company. Most of all Richard was very devoted to his family being a wonderful father and husband.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Royle, Arnold, Gail, Bernard, and Donna.
Richard will be greatly missed by his wife, Frances A. of 21 years; children, William (Evelyn) VanDyke, Cindy Kuchenski, Sharri (Ron) Ferrell, Richard “Chauncey” V. (Gina) Clausen II; grandchildren, Jasson Moore, David Kuchenski, Megan Kuchenski, Richard “Ricky” V. Clausen III, Zach Martinelli, 5 great grandchildren, Brothers Larry and Darrell; former wife, Mary L. Clausen and many other family and friends.
There will be a memorial service on May 8, 2021 at 11am, at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.
