STOW - Richard C. King, 83, passed away July 14, 2016. He was born in Youngstown and resided in Stow for the past 56 years. Richard served his country in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean War and also was a member of General MacArthur's Band. He worked at F.E.M.C.O. for 25 years, was an aide for the special education students at Kent Roosevelt High School, and retired from R.F. Cook Manufacturing Co. in Stow. He was a charter member of the Stow United Methodist Church. Richard was also a member of the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281 and V.F.W Ralph Huff Post 1082. He was the past Master of the Cuyahoga Falls Masonic Lodge # 735 FandAM.
Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Esther; mother and father-in-law, Miner and Ruth Bevere; and grandson, Danny Adkins; he is survived by his wife Beverly of 62 years; daughter, Carol (Steven) Etheridge of Akron; son, David (Sarah) of Cleveland Heights; 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Catherine), Jason (Tiffany), Landon and Lauren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Neil) Bevere of Cuyahoga Falls; and sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Fred Sowers.
Friends may call from 12-2 PM and the funeral service will be held at 2PM on Monday July 18, 2016 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. Interment Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to the ALS Association 6115 Rockside Rd. Suite 403, Independence, OH, 44131 or a charity of your choice.
