Richard Poppenhouse

PORTAGE LAKES- Richard S. Poppenhouse, 90, passed away October 1, 2013.
Mr. Poppenhouse was born in Akron, Ohio, graduated from Central High School and served in the US Navy as a pilot during WWII. He is the former owner of Davis Printing Company in Barberton where he served as President of the Barberton Kiwanis and the Salvation Army Board. He was a member of the Printing Craftsman Club.

Preceded in death by his daughter Linda, brother Robert and sister Winifred McKinley, he is survived by his wife of 66 years Millie; children, Rick (Pat), Patty (Jack) Muehlheim, Tom (Sharon), Kathy (Jeff) Conrad, Sarah and Larry (Kim); grandchildren, Alice (Will), Kristen, Laura (Zac), Karen, Elizabeth, Adam, Tommy, Kathleen (David), Samantha and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Kaylie and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 4 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, Fr. Leo Wehrlin officiating. Internment Holy Cross Cemetery.
