Austinburg - Bob Archer was born in July 31, 1924 in Akron, Ohio and passed away January 13, 2008 at home in Austinburg, OH.
Bob is preceded in death by brothers Raymond II and William. He leaves behind his daughter Lynn Archer of Santa Fe, NM; brother, Preston Archer of Taylorsville, NC and many nieces, nephews and friends.
At 19 years of age Bob joined the US 8th Army Air Corp. He became the lead navigator of the 492nd Bomb Group stationed in England during WWII And was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war he continued his education at Kent State, Harvard University and Case Western Reserve. He received his Masters and then his Doctorate degree in Environmental Aesthetics. Bob's studies led him into a career of teaching at Kent State University, Old Trail Academy, Western Reserve Academy and Cleveland State University. Bob lived in Austinburg for the past 20 years. He loved gardening, landscape design, history and classical music. He enjoyed living at Sycamore Hall Gardens with his dear friends John and Marianne Klause.
