Robert Benfield

SILVER LAKE -Robert R. Benfield, 84, passed away at his residence January 8, 2009. Mr. Benfield was born in Cleveland and had resided in Silver Lake the past 40 years, moving there from Cuyahoga Falls. He retired from Goodyear International and was a member of the Goodyear Retirees Club and The Chapel of Akron. He was a Veteran of WWII having served with the U. S. Army, a member of Star Lodge 187 F&AM and was an avid golfer at Maplecrest Golf Course.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan; daughters and sons-in-law, Lari Jo and Joseph A. Gabriel of Stow and Lynne Beth and Bill Janssen of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, JT, Logan, Mason and Parker Gabriel and Cara, Kelsey and Cabe Harwood and sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Vito Stolfo of Stow.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, Rev. Steve Bucy officiating. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. A Military Service will be conducted by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa 444 N. Main St. P.O.
