Robert Evans

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Robert E. Evans, 82, passed away August 24, 2012. Mr. Evans was born in Tuscarawas, OH and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1948, served 6 years in the US Air Force and graduated from Kent State University. He worked for BF Goodrich Research and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls serving as a Deacon and Elder. He is a 50 year member of Star Lodge 187 F. & A. M. and a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron. He was a member of the Akron Metro Parks Hiking Club and enjoyed square dancing.

Preceded in death by his sister, Susan Lewis, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; children, Catherine (Dan) Daniell of Diamond, OH, Michael (Pilar) Evans of Yorktown, VA and Steven (Laura) Evans of Stow; grandchildren, Robert, Alan (Nicole), Alba, Clayton and Ryan; great-granddaughter, Emmalynn; sister, Beatrice "Bea" Holbert of Stow; sister-in-law Hazel Holtom of Matthews, NC and brother-in-law, David Lewis of Cuyahoga Falls.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 28 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls where Star Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29 in the United Presbyterian Church, 2819 Hudson Dr, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where friends may call one hour prior to the time of service, Dr. Richard A Hasler officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Military Honors by American Legion Lake Milton Post 737. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his church.
