Robert Farling

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Robert "Well GLORY" Nute Farling, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH died in his home, surrounded by his family on January 9th, 2016. He was 87 years old.

Bob is survived by the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Barbara, daughters Roberta (Andy) Haidnick, Deedee (Bob) James and sons Ken(Hong), Randy, Tim (Lisa), Glenn and Sam. Grandchildren Michael (Jenn), Gene (Ashley), Andrew, Tim and Randi as well as 3 great-grandchildren.

Bob was born on July 17th, 1928 in Bluffton Indiana and was a local resident for nearly seven decades. An Eagle Scout, he served honorably in the United States Navy. He worked as a Journeyman Carpenter (Carpenters Local 21 Cleveland Ohio) and participated in the construction of many local structures including the Cathedral Tower in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a leading member of the Sons of the American Revolution serving various roles including State President, Secretary and Chaplain. A dedicated and faithful man of God he also served as Chaplain of his local AARP and was a well known member of Broadman Baptist Church.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13th at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home. 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 14th at Broadman Baptist Church, 350 Bath Rd. Cuyahoga Falls OH 44223. Pastor Chris McCombs officiating. Internment Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
