Robert Pyke Jr

CUYAHOGA FALLS -Robert E. Pyke, Jr., 67, passed away January 24, 2016. Mr. Pyke was born in Akron and was a lifetime resident of Cuyahoga Falls. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic Lay Minister and a member of the IHM Knights of Columbus. He was loved by all his patients having worked as an LPN, RN and Nurse Practitioner. Bob put his faith, family, friends, love for music and passion for his career above all else. He connected with healthcare providers forming friendships all over the world through TeleHealth on the computer. He had been honorably discharged from the U. S. Army Reserves as a Master Sargeant.

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Sr. and Gertrude and brother, Steven J., Bob is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Ellen; children, Rama and Joey, both of Cuyahoga Falls and other extended family including Bob and Jan Yannayon.

The Pyke Family would like to thank the Summa Hospice Staff along with the Physicians, Nurses and other caring staff members on the Palliative Care Floor at Akron City Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 Wednesday, Jan 27 in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, Jan. 28 in St. Joseph's. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
