Robert Saunders, Sr

Robert J. Saunders Sr., 89, passed away Jan. 18, 2014. Mr. Saunders was born in Akron where he had resided most of his life. He was a freelance commercial artist and was a Veteran of WWII having served with the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his children, Forrest J. (Barbara) Saunders of Berea, Robert J. Saunders, Jr. of Roseville, CA, Linda (Mark) Troxell of Alliance and Charlene Jones of Akron; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday, Jan. 22 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where the family will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 am Wednesday. Interment Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cleveland Disabled American Veterans, A. J. C. Federal Building, 1015, 1240 E. Ninth St. Cleveland, OH 44199-2002.
