Robert Smith

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Robert G. Smith, 87, passed away suddenly September 9, 2015. He was born in Jane Lew, WV. Bob attended Salem University after serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired from General Tire after 37 years of service. Bob enjoyed being a grandfather and golfer. He also was an avid West Virginia Mountaineer fan. Bob was a member of the 1st Congregational Church of Akron and Adoniram-Joppa Lodge 517 FandAM

Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jan; he is survived by his daughters, Terri (Jake) Cook and Robin (Pat) Crahan; grandchildren, Amy (Greg) Byerly, Ryan (Carla) Calderhead, Leslie Cook (Michael Goggin), Tyler (Amy), Devon and Abby Crahan; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Kate, Marco and Dallora.

Cremation has taken place, and a private ceremony will be held in West Virginia.
In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to the Food Cupboard at 1st Congregational Church of Akron 292 E. Market St. Akron, OH, 44308. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
