CUYAHOGA FALLS - At age 90 Bob died peacefully in his sleep July 11, 2016, surrounded by his loving family, joining his beloved Lord and Savior.

Born in Altoona, Pa., Bob graduated from Chambersburg High School and Dickinson University. He was ordained in the Methodist Church following graduation from Wesley Seminary (then Westminster).

Bob served multiple parishes in Central Pa. for 11 years prior to coming to Ohio in 1957. In East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church he pastored churches in Cortland, Streetsboro, Marlboro and Munroe Falls. He served in full time ministry for 44 years and in retirement pastored many other retirees; serving as editor of their newsletter for 6 years. He delighted in mentoring the young in ministry and served as one of the first supervising pastors for Ministry Candidacy studies.

Bob loved life and people. He served in many volunteer ministries, among his favorites the Hartville Migrant Council. For 33 years he served as Memoirs Editor for the Conference Journal, always celebrating his colleagues life and faithful service. He was a regular participant in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life the past 15 years.

Preceded in death by his parents Walter S. and Bessie G. (Lowe) Wagner; and brothers, W. William (and wife, Erma), Richard and G. Fred Wagner; he is survived by his wife of 42 years Floredda Hope (Craig); by sons David G. (Nancy) Wagner, Daniel (Julie) Werstler, and daughters, Lori (Gary) Ciulla, Amy (Lee) Snyder, Wendy (Keith) Gillespie, Jeni (Brooke) Wilson, and Judith Wagner. Also the grandchildren in which he delighted: Brian Wagner, Matthew (Sarah), Joseph (Irene), Timothy (Melissa) Snyder; Lindsay, Nicholas (Siobhan), Vincent, Jacob Ciulla; Mackenzie and Samantha Wilson; JJ Gillespie; and Jeremiah and Jacinda Werstler; and great-grand-children, Ryan, Alyx, Emily, Addisyn; Maddox and Mason; and Hunter Snyder; as well as many dear extended family members.

Bob found joy and wholeness in life and his ministry. His body has been given to NeoMed University to help further medical research.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held Monday, July 25, 2016, at 11;30 am at the First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, with Rev. David Baker officiating. Family visitation will be at 10 am until service time. Any memorial gifts may be directed to the Music Ministry of First UMC. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
