Rose Capatosto-Hickey

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Rose Marie Capatosto-Hickey, 89, passed away June 24, 2015. She was born in Akron and was a life-long Cuyahoga Falls resident and also of Florida. Rose attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she was a founding member, and belonged to the Mothers of Sorrows. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed shopping, decorating and cooking for her family. Rose was a woman who was always on the go, she was nicknamed "Rambling Rose" by Guido and her family.

Preceded in death by her husbands, Guido Capatosto and Logan Hickey; brothers, Anthony, Luke (Amalia), Vince (Vivian) and John (Mary) Patrino; and sister, Mary (Mario) Sansonetti; she is survived by daughters, Carol (Bill) Duve of Cuyahoga Falls, Diana (David) Ellies of Bloomington, IN and Michelle "Mickey" (Ben) Shepardson of Boca Raton, FL; grandchildren, Michael (Jen) Duve, Kristin (Kit) Schneckenberger, Aaron (Amy) Stolberg and Erika Young; great-grandchildren, Delaney, Max, Will, Evan, Alex, Ali-Rose and Sam; siblings, Carmella (Al) Hope and Mike (Pat) Patrino; sister-in-law, Virginia Patrino; many nieces and nephews; and her dear and devoted friend, Jenny Karder.

The family wishes to thank all the special people from Hospice of Summa, Traditions for their wonderful care and Fr. Jim Singler for his comfort and many visits to Mom.

Memorial calling will be held 1 hour prior to a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44223. Fr. James Singler will be officiating. Inurnment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the Church or Summa at Home P.O. 2090 Akron, OH, 44398-6153. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
