Rose Ann Reynolds

Rose was born on June 18, 1947 in Thayer, Missouri and died on August 7, 2024 in Akron, Ohio with her husband and sister by her side.

Rose grew up as the oldest of two brothers, Roy and Glen, and one sister, Bonnie. She graduated from Maplewood High School in St. Louis, Missouri. After high school, she attended cosmetology school. Rose’s love of working with people led her to become a representative for Tupperware and Avon. While living in Oklahoma, she worked at CR Anthony’s department store then eventually became a secretary at Harding Middle School. That position established a lengthy career working in school administration until her retirement from Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas, as Certification Officer. After her retirement, Rose was a representative for Premier Design Jewelry and eventually Mary Kay. She took joy in working with others, going to conferences, and meeting new people.

In 2022, Paul and Rose moved up to Hartville, Ohio to be closer to Bonnie and Glen, her sister and brother. They established new friendships and were surrounded by good neighbors. Rose enjoyed continuing to represent Mary Kay and taking care of her family.

Rose’s biggest job was trying to make sure Paul was not getting out of hand or into serious trouble. If asked about his latest escapade, she would laugh, shake her head, and recount the real story. For those who knew Rose, you knew that she adored Paul and was a devoted wife. They were best, lifelong friends who demonstrated true love for one another. Rose had true grit and a witty sense of humor which we all loved.

Rose had an affection for angels and believed in them with all her heart. She was a loyal and beautiful friend to many. She enjoyed doing crafts and making flower arrangements. She used this talent for some of her family’s events such as weddings, receptions, bridal showers, and baby showers. She knew how to blanket a room with beauty and add that special touch. She would often decorate the fellowship hall at Evers Road Community Church in San Antonio for regular services as well as some of the special events. In addition, Rose loved to sing and shared her voice in the choir. She was also actively involved in Vacation Bible School and Awana’s. She had a deep, Christian faith that she quietly and openly shared with others as well as giving a daily Bible devotional. She had just been welcomed as a member of The Chapel in Green church.

Rose was surrounded by a loving family. Anyone who knew her would be able to hear her talk about her husband, siblings, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She is survived by Paul Reynolds, her husband of 52.5 years, her sister and best friend Bonnie Sampson, brother Glen Haynes, and her four children: Shawna Reynolds Jirasek, David Alan Reynolds (Sharon), Kenneth Reynolds, and Annie Sapaugh (James). In addition, she is survived by nineteen grandchildren: DJ Jirasek (Megan), Christina Jirasek, Valerie Jirasek Lee (Garett), Tanner Reynolds, Trevin Reynolds, Conlin Reynolds, Kerric Reynolds, Ashlee Alexander (Justin), Taylor Skinner, Macaela Skinner, Michelle Firestone (Skylar), Tonie Reynolds (Liz), Kelsea Cook (Leo), Tyler Reynolds, Alan Michael Houghton, Michael Sapaugh, and Christina Sapaugh. She has thirteen great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Rose was preceded in death by her brother Roy Haynes, and grandsons Hunter Reynolds and Skylar Skinner.

Her family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, ancillary staff, pastoral care, and other medical professionals for the care they provided, especially the valiant efforts to help her in her final days. We would especially like to thank the people at Summa City Hospital in Akron, Ohio.

Rose adored her roles as wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She joins her beloved choir of angels in heaven, rejoicing with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be missed.

Psalm 121: 7–8 – The Lord will keep you from all harm – He will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your comings and goings both now and forever more.

The family is holding a private gathering. If you wish, donations can be made to Susan G. Komen (komen.org) in lieu of flowers.
