Rosemary Hogue departed this world on December 15th, 2022. Rosemary was born to John W. and Anna Hogue in Akron, Ohio on May 27th, 1928.
Rosemary Hogue was a force for good and her goodness, love and charm touched the souls of many people over the course of Rosie's 94 yearlong celebration of life, love and she did it all with her head held high, and a uniquely upbeat view of life that inspired an unknowable amount of people. Rosie's enthusiasm for living, and her unrelenting kindness was a driving force in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing and sharing life with Rosie. She was among the very first Akronites to receive the gift of penicillin, and that grace carried Rosie into the blossoming Akron pharmaceutical industry, where she worked with compounds and new medicines that would treat a litany of previously untreatable conditions for her beloved community, breathing life, love and compassion into this community. Rosie's retirement from the Steelworkers Union marked the honorable conclusion of her long and storied career. Rosie was very much loved, and she will be very much missed.
Private services will be held and she will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park.
